About the Teacher:
Hey there! My name is Kevin Keenan and it’s great to meet you! I have been a proud husband to my lovely wife, Natalia Keenan for 18 years now, and we are blessed with three amazing kids – Ashton (24), Jackson (17), and Kylie (15). We’ve been homeschooling our children for the past 11 years and it has been a great adventure! We’ve used many resources and organizations along the way, and we’ve learned a lot. However, we found that when it comes to studying history, there aren’t many options available.
A few years ago, I pursued my passion for history and earned a Master’s degree while simultaneously teaching two groups, which included my own children and their peers, American and world history. Now that I have completed my formal education, I have decided to expand my teaching horizons and offer more classes. These Socratic-style discussion classes are designed to inspire critical thinking skills, research, and advanced writing skills that will prepare students for college. During the course, students will be encouraged to think independently and support their arguments with evidence.
I have had the opportunity to gain a diverse range of skills through my experiences both in school and in the workplace. These skills have proven to be useful in various scenarios that come up during discussions today. Additionally, I have come to appreciate how historical context plays a crucial role in most decisions we make in life. I’m always happy to lend a helping hand and use my skills to assist others whenever they need it.
